I went up past the Grange hall and out North Bridge Street. The town was pretty well built up now, more than when I attended good old G. H. S. There was a lot of business places. One I noticed in particular for it had a sign on the front Madame Pence's Beautee Salon. I wondered then if this woman could be my old pal Evelyn. My curiosity got the best of me, so I had to go in to find out. Sure enough, it was Evelyn . We gabb ed and gabbed about this and that until my vocal cords almost gave out. While Iwas there, Evelyn's old girl friend, Phyllis Trent Know Mrs. Carl Null, jr.j came in to get her hair set. 'Phyllis has the cutest little girl. She had her along, but she left her son at home. He was helping Menkes plant trees. I simply had to move on. I wanted to see how the old homeplace looked so I turned my car north. It surely did look different. There was a spacious driveway and of course, a super, duper television aerial on the housetop. I looked on the mail box to see who lived there. Much to my surprise the name read Mr. and Mrs. Ralph l..aughman. I couldn't resist driving in to see them. They look very happy and secure with their two young sons. Ralph had gone to college and was now an engineer. I just had to see how their television worked so Ralph turned it on. It came on in color. There was a b-e-a-u-t-i-f-u-1 blond singing. I knew her as soon as I saw her. It was Marlene Bowman. Betty fixed a light lunch for me and while doing so we had to talk. She told me that johnny and Joanne Hicks lived right next doorg that Rita Curtner was living in Eaton with her husband. Rita worked until about a year ago in the Montesimo Atomic Energy Plant at Miarnisburg as a chemist. Judy Griffieth is also a chemist at Miamisburg. I Won't be a bit surprised if the roof blows off things in a few weeks. Dorothy Etzler is a Home Economist at the Ohio State University. We sat and tried to think of what Della Lavy and Ila Jean Fourman were doing but neither of us had heard from them. After doing the dishes, I sat down to look at the newspaper and soon found out about these two girls. They are the sole owners of the Lavy-Fourman Dress Shoppes in Chicago. Their advertisement was in the paper. I was so contented from having such a wonderful dream about my old classmates that I must have been dancing a jig right on the deck of my yacht, for I fell off into the water with a great big splash. I Class Prophecy As Iwas lying in my hammock on my new yacht the other day, Ifell asleep. I had the best dream for you see I met all my old classmates of 1950. In my dream I was in my new Tucker going toward the Maidrite. Put, put, put. The car stopped right in front of that beautiful gas station, The Bonded. Who should come out but Slim McMiller. He now owns The Bonded and several other gas stations. My gas tank proved to be empty, so I had it filled and journeyed on toward the Maidrite where I planned to eat my lunch. Who should I find there but my old pan, Joyce Morton. I-le is married now and has twin daughters. He tells me they are both red heads! I 1 After lunch I headed my car toward Route 36. Coming into Gettysburg I slammed on my brakes, for l almost hit a man walking across the street. The man proved to be Eddie Buzard. Eddie told me that he owns the garage here in town. While we were talking, I found that Lois jane Martin is now living on a dairy farm. We always knew she wanted to be a F'ARMER'S wife. He told me Bill Miller lives on a large potato farm in Missouri and Ben Smith runs a homey resort in Florida. We talked of the news of the nation and of course this included our President, Gene Luke. He was elected on the Republican ticket lfinallyl. He married Nancy Luzena. Nancy also got her wish. She used to tell me she wanted to have six boys. She got 'em. Ijourneyed on down the road past the school and toward the end of town. There was DoL.ores Shade out in the yard. She told me this was her day off from work, She is a private secretary to Benny Hudson who is now Secretary of the Navy. DoL.ores still has not made up her mind whether she wants an Elliott or a Collins. DoL.ores has kept in touch with some of the girls in our class. Wilma Hahn is the leading trumpeter in the all girl orchestra. Martha Lou is residing at the Stoltz mansion on Route 36 and Virginia is a famous artist in New York City. I turned my car up George Street and went down past the old familiar school house. Some little children were out playing. Their teacher was with them. I thought she looked familiar, and I soon found out why for it was Roberta Chetwood. She still never grew up. Roberta and I chatted until the bell rang for the children to go back to their classes. I had to leave then. I 18

Class Will We the class of '50 of Gettysburg High School in the County of Darke, and the State of Ohio, being of sound mind and judgment and realizing that we have reached that important stage in our life where we find it both necessary and proper before taking our next step onward to more celestial spheres, and being conscious and painfully aware that in May, 1950, we shall part from said High School, do hereby declare this our last will and testament and dispose of our property in the manner following to wit: ARTICLE I To the faculty we bequeath our sincerest gratitude and good wishes and the hope that even though we were a difficult task during these four years, they will always remember the class of '50, ARTICLE Il To next year's Annual Staff we bequeath the trial and tribulations of preparing the Cardinal.
