Class History The Senior c1a.ss of 1950 started its long journey through education in the year 1938 with Miss Edith Arnold steering its course. DoLores Shade, Edwin Buzard, Della Lavy, lla jean Fourman, Lois jane Martin, Betty june johnson, Ben Smith, and Nancy Luzena were her pupils. During this year Rita Curtner and Virginia Skiles joined the little crew. They traveled many a mile the next three years through the Second, Third, and Fourth grades. Their teachers were Miss Oma Martin, Miss Martha Eley, and Miss Catherine Bright. Martha Lou Schultz, Gene Luke, and Roberta ,Chetwood joined them in the fifth grade. Their teacher was Mrs. Catherine Loxley. In the Sixth grade Mrs. Opal Erbaugh was our helpful teacher. Here we were happy to get Wilma Hahn, Joanne Collins, Ralph Laughman, Bill Miller, and Phyllis Trent. When the group reached the Seventh grade Joyce Mortonjoined them. Nlrs. Virgle VanScoyk steered us on to the Eighth grade where we gained another member, Dorothy Etzler. Our teacher was Mr. Carroll Munn. We finally entered high school. Our new members were Judy Griffieth, Marlene Bowman, and Ben Hudson. Our advisor was Miss june Ross. We then went on to our Sophomore year. Harold Mc1VIi1ler joined us. Mr. Albert Porter was our advisor. No one joined the happy throng their junior year. Nancy Luzena was elected to be their worthy president. This was one of their busiest years for they sold candy at noon and had charge of the concession stand at the basketball games. At the end of the year they took the Seniors of 49 to the Ohio Caverns and then journeyed to Indian Lake for dinner and speed boat rides. They also presented the class play Great Caesar's Ghost. Their Senior year has undoubtedly been the busiest and the happiest of the twelve years of school. Nancy Luzena was re-elected for her second term as class president. They had their Senior pictures taken in October. They sold pins and magazines to finance their trip to Niagara Falls in june. Their class play was presented April 13 and 14. 17
