To the Class of 1944: Many years ago Sophocles said, Without labor nothing prospersf' A little reflection on past events should be enough to convince anyone of the truth of this statement. Yet, there have always been many people looking for the easy road to success. Crystal gazing or wishful thinking will do nothing to win the war, to establish a lasting peace, or to guide you on the road to success. Such goals are reached only by work and personal application. Certainly you will meet discouragement and dis- appointment, for the road to success is not paved with roses. But, when adversity comes, remember the saying of Sophocles. Best wishes and Godspeed, L. C. KEEFAUVER LLOYD C. KEEFAUVER GUILE W. LEFEVER fp 'fA,g,0l!'.f.f 1' ' ,' ff To the Class of 1944: Every boy and girl leaving high school this year will enter the service of his county. Some will be trained in combat duty, some will be trained to nurse the sick and the wounded, and some will be occupied in producing food and materials. Re- gardless of the type of work, everyone will be work- ing to end this world struggle. Whatever be your job, it will be necessary for you to do it to the best of your ability. If that can be said of you, then you can be called a true American citizen. G. W. LEFEVER
