Scorr MR. J. GUY WOLF ADVISCDRS When Miss Scott and Mr. Wolf were selected to advise and direct us throughout our four-year course, we felt confident that success would attend the projects that we attempted. In this expectation we were not disappointed. Both Miss Scott and Mr. Wolf have contributed largely to the successes that the class of 1941 has enjoyed. Miss Scott has given us valuable assistance in our plays and our social functions. Mr. Wolf has prevailed upon us to he practical and keep our accounts in order. To these faithful advisors and loyal friends, we express our heartfelt appreciation. IDA MAY ALEXANDER FPAICXI,-ACADEMIC. Among the records broken were: 18 consecutive games in one season, making a two-year record of 24 games without defeat, a District 3 championship, meaning a position in the play-offs for the state title. Coach Forne 's team started the season with hi h ho es b winnin handil four re-season ames. The Y g P Y g Y P g Little Bullets then systematically defeated each conference opponent as it came for a perfect Hrst round. Mechanicsburg, on its home-court, came closest to marring the Maroon's record. After a mid-season non-conference game, the Little Bullets continued their winning ways, winning easily all games and clinching the conference title at Waynesboro. Then as the last game of the season, the Maroons met their first defeat at the hands of the second place Chambersburg team. Coach Forney's lads then entered the District 3 semi-finals and defeated Lititz, Lancaster county champs, at York, in an extra period tussle. This earned them the right to meet William Penn High School of Harrisburg for the District 3 championship. No Southern Conference team had ever won this title, but this did not daunt the Maroons, and in the most exciting game of the season they became the first Southern Conference team to enter the state play-offs. In the University of Pennsylvania's Palestra, the strong Mahanoy City team, District 11 champions, eliminated the Little Bullets from any further competition, thus closing the Maroon Basketeers' season. In the course of the year, Coach Forney's team won 20 out of 22 games, 18 of them consecutively. They amassed 778 points to their opponents 489, to make an average of 35-22. The play-the last of Sinclair Robinson's Tiger', series-was sponsored by the Mask and Wig dramatic society for the benefit of the band. The plot moves swiftly from the United States to mysterious India and back again. The element of mystery is provided by a cruel tiger cult, hidden in the hill country of Mau, where superstitious natives worship a man-eating tiger! Around the throat of this tiger is a collar of fabulous jewels. Trouble arises when Madame Sylvia, an American medium, steals the collar to help her English friends. She and Yami, the animalis keeper, fear pursuit, and flee to America. Needless to say, the play ends happily after thrilling the audience with horrible claws, and sparkling diamonds.
