CHEMISTRY In addition to the obvious objectives of attempting to teach a body of information and to conjure reasonable theories that account for various phenomena that are observed in the study of chemistry, we try to develop an attitude of questioning by students of that which they read and are told. The generation of skepticism toward unsubstantiated statements tregardless of their sourcet is an importnat characteristic to be nurtured in the liberal arts education of any student.
