.- . The Class of 1976 f ettysburg holds a special signifi- Vance for all Americans. While the - ettysburg Address dances on the ongues of young schoolchildren, it vokes memories of the struggle for ' country's unification in the minds f the very old. But to us, the stu- tents of Gettysburg College, it is jndicative of much more. 0 ur transformation into the Gettys- urg realm was developed through- jout the summer of '72. Mailboxes yulged with the Honor Code and FCXPanhel letters, linen service wffers, course booklets, welcoming 1 otes and bursar bill bundles. it may 1'. ave been difficult to digest so i uch at that time, but the ultimate gt. uzzle was not fully evidenced until 7'. ur arrival at the 'Burg. vaerything around us seemed to ,whirl us in activity. We hardly had enough time to take notice that our .,rooms were located in the dark, underground Pit or that a dean or :dorm counselor was so conven- .iently rooming next door. :As we were swept through registra- e.tion, we found ourselves equipped with dinks lfor those frequent rainy Q Gettysburg daysl and Pig books lfor ichoosing dates for those bright Gettysburg nights.l Our orientation leaders exposed us not only to the .; ampus environment; they also 53?,Ati.;:: ';7f:n abared helpful cues to college living. , e asked them many questions for which the answers came. However, We learned that some responses L ould only be rightfully understood through our own experience. ..s....-:-;..:... a ...'...-...;t.-. . r ... ,.,. u, - - - -.. ... .xunx....
