jl. This provided for the improvement and expansion of the Biology, 50- ciology and Anthropology and Psy- chology Departments. The Hauser Field House was completed in 1973. The Meals property was purchased in 1963, which extended the campus to the northwest, out along Mummas- burg Road. The Meals House or Conference House, still exists and retains the name of its former owners.

The 1950's and 1960's were a time of great expansion for the College. Both Dormitory Quads were built to house the increasing number of students enrolled. Now Hanson Hall, the first dormitory to be built, stands on the site of the old observatorysthrist Chapel, the Student Union Building, Masters Hall and Bream Gymnasium were also built during this time. The land on which Musselman Stadium now stands was owned by a brick factory, and was purchased along with the Quarry in 1961. The West Building, which houses ROTC at Gettysburg College, was a wire factory at the time it was purchased. The most recent building project was McCreary Hall, which was completed in 1969.

Looking forward to new expansion, the next addition to the Gettysburg College campus will be the proposed Librarwaesearch Learning Center. Part of the needed funds have already been raised, and the College is eagerly awaiting the start of construction. The completion of this new :building will mark a culmination of 150 years of growth by Gettysburg College.
