Many upperclassmen retumed early to school in order to prepare for the start of the year and the arrival of the new freshmen. The first group to get started in training was the football team who arrived on August 26 to play in the summer heat. Next, the members of the marching band came to get ready for the football games also. As the first of September drew near, so did the date that the freshmen were to arrive at school for the beginning of orientation. But, before they got here, the dorm counsellors had a workshop waiting for them. The dorm cousellors and head residents began work on the first of September and by then the campus began to show signs of the life that it is accustomed to. Finally, the rest of the upperclassmen got to school for registration on the seventh of September . . . 27
