The last game played with Gettysburg High was one of the most exciting and interesting games of the season From the beginning we had the edge on them Shortly after the kickoff the Academy received the ball and raced down the field for a touchdown Captain Williams carrylng the ball In the second quarter an intercepted pass by Oyler tied the score Time after time our team penetrated the High line and several times came within a yard or two of their goal l1ne only to be penalized re peatedly Practically the entire game was play ed on the High School s territory and the game ended vsith our team having the ball on the Highs two yard line In this game practically every one of the Academy, players play ed with the best that was in them and iustly deserve much credit for thelr efforts The playing of Captain Williams McNaul and Hutchison IQ worthy of mention player faced each contest White star fullback played sensa tional football in the first two games but his 1n1ury kept him out of the remaining games The entire backfield Williams McNaul Hutchison and Agnevs played stellar football through out the season Hassenfuss and Armstrong ends both played a super1o1 brand of football Flchtner our husky right tackle was a hard fighter Osterlund left tackle played a good game throughout Sloop and Hoffman guards were always on hand with plenty of fight Wood showed his ablllty as a center un questlonably Smith Parry and King played 1n only a few games but showed plenty of pep Although we suffered a great loss we are nevertheless pleased with the results and we feel vse were not disappointed in believ 1ng that we would have a successful football season Two games won three tied and two lost tells the story of our Football year P904 Y 7 ' I , . , . , - , .
