The reunion DIODGI was commenced by a dinner in the ban quet hall piesided over by Rev Agnew who ln a most eloquent speech appealed to us for suggestions for the iebuildlng of the Academy His appeal was met with enthusiastic responses Rev Baker the successor to the late Rev J B Baker of Gettys burg pioposed that since the lnstltution was Lutheran it was altogethei fitting and proper for the preachers to raise funds in the11 respective churches This motion w as unanimously seconded bx all the other disciples of Christ Rev s Keller and Reed of Haiiisburg Shields of Baltimore being included While this pmposition was accepted by the Rewerends another was made by D05 le who claimed that the 1est of us w ere willing to orial to ou1 class The first to endorse this pioposltion were the feminine members of the meeting Miss Bakei now a congress woman and Miss Aspei the Dean of Penn Hall School for Guls at Chambersburg All the others followed suit and soon enough money was subscribed foi a fine new main building Befole adiourning when the sad thought that we had to lefwe ou1 good friends was already present in our minds and w hen each of us w as piepaling to bid and receive pelhaps the last good bi es to md fiom those deal friends we all sang the old G X hsmn aftei whlch we depaited cauymg along with us sw eet lemembiances of the reunion Page I4 y H l . , 7 I A a , A K 4 0 xx 0 o n y ' , l n S l L 1 .
