Qffa 'z Hoya. The Cesu Church and School is justly proud of its Altar Boys. Winter and summer. early and late, they were there as Christ's Body Guard to serve Him faithfully and reverently. The officers for the Saint John l3erchman's Altar Boy Society. for the year 1951-52 were: President, Richard Basila: Vice President. Vincent Testa: Secretary-Treasurer. George Neff: Master of Cere- monies. James Morris. The Directress for the year was Sister Mary Herhert. The attention of the Society was focused upon one of its higgest tasks of the year. the serving of Midnight Mass. Preparation for this momentous occasion was begun weeks in advance. Only those who were faithful to their appointments were al- lowed the privilege of serving at special events. lloly Week was next on the Societyis list of serv- ices for the year. The solemn ceremonies during this week required three days and now movement must he learned. linder the guidance of Sister Mary llerhert. this task was easily accomplished as prov- en hy the fact that the boys did a fine joh in serving at these heautiful functions. The picnic was given to the Altar Boys at the end of the year hy Father llruhan. to reward them for their fine services for the past year. We are all grateful to Sister Mary Herbert for her patience in directing the Society through a very successful vear.

The different Committees planned many pro- jects for the Sodalists during the year, all of which were accomplished. The whirling Friday night dances were all successful, thanks to our Social-Life Committee. Credit goes to Our Lady's Committee for seeing that the Rosary was recited at the 8 olclock Mass every morning during the month of October. The annual lVlr. Highv Contest was a pushover and successful, thanks goes to the Pub- licity and Eucharistic Committees. The Apostolic Committee over-stepped itself as a very active Com- mittee, as it handled the raffle of the Gesu sweater to raise money for the convention. We shall ever be indebted to God and to Our Blessed Mother for the inestimable gifts bestowed on us in having allowed us to enjoy such spiritual and social advantages as we have seen this year. Another Chapter has been added to the History of the Sodality at Gesu. With great pride we look back upon the pleasant memories that this year has blessed us. We feel sure that Our Blessed Mother is now smiling down from Heaven on Her Sodality, the members of which have given Her such faithful service during the school year 1951-52. The beginning of the school year found the Sodalist enthusiastically making plans and prepara- tions for the annual Sodality convention which was held at the Princess lssena Hotel in Daytona Beach on November 21-25. This convention proved to be of great benefit to the delegates who attended. Throughout the year the boys' Sodality continued their edifying practice of having a special Sunday set aside in each month as their Communion Sun- day, at which they received the Holy Eucharist in a body. The officers and committee heads for the year were: Richard Basila, Prefectg Joseph Garvin, Vice Prefectg Charles Kacir, Secretary, Vincent Testa, Treasurerg William Brasmar, Social-Life Com- mittee, George Camus, Publicityg Frank Castellon, Our Lady'sg William Wells, Eucharisticg .lames Morris, Apostolic.

Freida Nicholas, Lesbia Collins, Bernadette Anlage. Wee 6744!- The Glee Club, as in former years, contributed in rounding out the extra-curricular activities of Cesu. Singing the High Mass on the second Sunday of every month, the eight o'clock Mass on the re- maining Sundays, and the ceremonies of Holy Week have been routine for the Gesu Choir. The mem- bers have also assisted with Assemblies, and special programs, such as Father's Night. The Modern Martyr, Senior Class Night, Amateur Shows. Three of the members, Mary Ann Guzman, Sylvia de Cordova and Rosemary Arias represented the Glee Club on the Amateur Contest at the Sodality Con- vention in Daytona Beach.
