THE 1986-87 BLUE JAY The Yearbook Staff Diane (Burk) Dye Chris Spelts Cheryl Johnstone Lisa Oldham DEDICATION Rudell Oldham was born on June 19, 1919, in Baird, Oklahoma. She attended grade school at Rock Creek and high school at Empire. After she graduated she married Ernest Oldham. She taught first through eighth grade for three years at Alendale Elem. School until it merged with Geronimo. At Geronimo she served as secretary for 15 years. She is the mother of Stanley Oldham of Walters, and Linda Childers of Van Buren. Presently she enjoys cooking, working cross- word puzzles, and raising house plants. Mrs. Oldham is the grandmother of 4: Lisa Marie Jason Kyle Oldham Melinda Lee Mason Lee Jr. Childers. DEDICATION Polly Adelle Lewis Murphy was born in a du- gout on August 21, 1915, in Redig South Dakota. She and her husband, Benjamin Vinson Murphy, deceased, have two daughters, Mary Linda and Kathleen Elizabeth and four grandchildren: Cathy Emilie, Jonathan, and Daevid. She also had a dog named Lorelei. Mrs. Murphy taught English, speech, and Spanish for 16 years before retiring in 1986-87. The things she liked most about teaching in Geronimo were: the freedom to teach the way she wanted, could get closer to the students, and the cooperation of the faculty. Some of her hobbies are: reading, crafts, and his- torical research.
