In Memory Of Jeri A. Bowls November 24, 1965 Joyce M. Mullenix April 4, 1959 We would like to take a moment to remember these four individuals. All four were very active in our community. They were always there playing an important roll. Jeri and Joyce were always at every basketball game yelling for us or telling us how well we played after the game was over. Eddie was very active in farming and he helped our Vocational Ag classes whenever he could. And Kay brought the Dazzlers to us. She also helped us in whatever she could whenever she could. Though their lives were cut short, we will never forget all that they taught us, nor will we forget the moments that were spent with each of these people. They will be in our hearts and minds forever. These four people were killed in the December 14 robbery of the First Bank of Geronimo. Dedication Marvin L. Baughman 1923-1983 Marvin L. Baughman was born August 20, 1923, in Geronimo, Oklahoma. He started school in Junction City, a small town near Geronimo, in 1929. When Junction City and Geronimo consolidated, he came to school here, where he graduated as valedictorian in 1940. He attended Cameron University in 1940 and Clemson in 1944. He was a Civil Service employee for 33 years until his retirement in 1975. In 1976 he was elected to the Oklahoma State Legislature where he served until his death on December 5, 1983. Marvin was a Deacon in the Geronimo Baptist Church and was an adult Sunday School Teacher for 25 years. Standing behind him was his wife, Emaleen, who he married in 1941. Their 4 children Ron, Woody, Peggy, and Joyce are graduates of Geronimo and each hold a Degree in Education. Marvin was instrumental in helping to get city water and sewer service and also in getting a housing addition in Geronimo. He was also very active in our little league baseball and in all our youth activities. He was a very valuable lifelong resident of Geronimo and he is dearly missed by all. 2
