THE 1981 BLUE JAY GERONIMO HIGH SCHOOL GERONIMO, OKLAHOMA DEDICA TION NICK MILLER Nick Miller, son of Mr. Mrs. Raymond Miller, was born on January 15, 1947, in Hobart, Oklahoma. He attended school in Rocky, Oklahoma, for eleven years, then he attended Eisenhower in 1965, his senior year, which was Eisenhower’s first graduating class. While attending Eisenhower, Nick won the Elks Leadership Award in basketball in 1965. After graduation, he attended Cameron Junior College for two years, then he graduated from Southwestern in 1969. During the 1970 decade, Geronimo was eleventh in state in winning percentages, and one of the thirteen in the state to have a winning season each year in the 1970’s with a record of 230 wins and only 102 losses. Nick Miller had an excellent coaching record here at Geronimo during the 1970’s. COACHING RECORD County Championships 1974, 1975, and 1977, and runner-up five times. He attended Geronimo High School for 11 Vi years, he also took a diesel mechanic class at Vo-Tech for a year and a half. In grade school he participated in 4-H and basketball. During high school he was a member of FFA for 3 years, where he held two offices Sentinel and Parliamentarian. His projects while he was in FFA were swine and cattle. One of Kent’s hobbies was playing the piano. He liked lively happy music the best, as well as the popular country western. He loved cats and dogs. He enjoyed wrestling with his German shepard (Ralph) which he trained to do several things. Kent also had a habit of spoiling his nieces and nephews, but his pride and joy was his two-tone green 1977 Chevy pickup which he hosed off dust and mud every day. On September 30, 1980, Kent Guy Kriz 17, a senior at Geronimo High School, died when he was overcome by propane gas fumes while cleaning out his pickup.
