They began their rise to the state finals by defeating Jackson Central Merry, whom they lost to during round I last year. From there, they went on to score 28 points on Melrose, who had only 8 points scored on them the entire year, advancing the Red Devils to the semi-finals. They defeated Gallatin and were on the way to State. Can you guess who the bottom left picture was? Yep - Mr. Chism during his football career. The Feuds Germantown's athletic department continued as one of the finest in the state. For the past five years in a row, the Red Devils have received the Best of the Preps award from the Memphis Com- mercial Appeal. This award was for the outstanding accomplishments of each and every athletic team at Germantown. Each individual sport showed a determi- nation to do the very best they could. The attitudes of coaches and players alike led to their successful seasons. This,year we looked forward to another great year in sports and hopefully our sixth year as BEST OF THE PREPS!!
