Editoria s RISTOTLE has said that educated men are as much superior to those uneducated as the living are to the dead. Here is a statement that we who have just completed the major part of our Iormal education would do well to con- sider. As high school graduates, we have received more formal education than the average United States citizen. But, are we educated? II we reflect upon the conditions in the world today, we will realize that our high school education will not be sufficient for our needs, and we will bend our every etfort towards further- ing it. Fortunately, through the educational facilities that are available to all today. we can continue our education whether or not we enter college. The present day young man or woman is offered oppor- tunities lor education which were un- thought ol' a Iew years ago. Inexpensive correspondence courses are available to all and well-equipped. modern, tree Ii- braries are readily accessible. Lectures, museums, educational radio courses, and many other opportunities for adult edu- cation are constantly being offered. Therefore, let us Ieave Germantown with this resolve, namely, that we wiII talce advantage of every opportunity oi- Iered to us to further our education, both Iormal and practical, in order that we may have more chances of success, and that we may thus be better citizens in the community in which we may chance to live. DAVID S. ATKINSON. ELPING to bring you this Class Record has given me more enjoy- ment than I can express. With such a co-operative and eager stati to worlc with, it has been a real pleasure. In these pages we have tried to present a complete story ol' your stay at German- town High School--your instructors and advisers: the extra-curricular activities which play such an important part in your school life: the high spots in your senior year: your athletic teams and their accomplishments: and finally, the friend- ships you have made. I hope that what we have done will, in future years, bring baclc happy memories of your high school days. JULIA SHENTON.
