Cfzss 9709122 PAST AND FUTURE It is so hard for us to tell The joys we've had at Germanton High As the times have gone swiftly by To the day that we must say good -bye. In this school where we all met We had the times we won't forget, Although we have had a lot of sorrow We'll find our happiness in some tomorrow. We all shall begin a life of our own Which will be a lonesome road to travel alone, But we shall find the end someday And thus will prove we found our way. So we, the Seniors of this year, Bid you all a farewell and say That we hope you all will hear of the wonderful times we have far and near. 7314010 ecy gf Gkss 0 761 As I look into my crystal ball, I see very clearly the future that lies ahead for the members of the Class of '61 of Germanton High School. Breaking from the hazy mist that surrounds the future, I see that LINDA COX is an airline hostess for the largest airline serving Winston-Salem. Overshadowing her work as Hostess is the fact that she will soon become the hostess in the home of some lucky mang her husband. Next, I can see NANCY BOWDEN taking her place at the piano. At the other piano, can be made out the figure of another pianist. Could it be that Nancy has become the partner of Liberacel What's this! Suddenly I can see the future of DARRYL RING. He has just be- come M. G. M. 's most important movie actor. We will soon be seeing him on the screen as the star of that most exciting, Gone , LARRY ROLAND has just bought out his partners, and is now the sole owner of the largest Ford place in the World. His cars are selling by the millions. I can see that the 'Hot Rod Kid', DAVID HAWKINS, has won the champion- ship trophy at the Indianapolis Speedway with his souped-up '49 Ford. This is David's fifth straight Victory. My next glance reveals IANIE WI-HTE as the owner of her own beauty shop. I'm sure she will do well, as hers is the only shop in Germanton. Coming into view now is NOLA KAY BENNETT. She is now head waitress at one of the most elaborate restaurants in New York City. Newspaper headlines show next what we've all been looking forward to. JOHN- NY JOHNSON has finally replaced Mr. Duncan as principal at Germanton. Lucky DON WHITE. He has just become manager of the Skating Rink in King. Some call him the best skater in the territory. From the crystal ball, I can now report that his fame goes farther than that. A real close look shows that BRENDA HAMPTON is buying an airplane ticket to Hawaii. Seems she is planning on setting up a million dollar Hula dress shop. She will cater to tourists with money. Looks like DORIS HILL and PHYLLIS SOUTHERN never made it. Here they are, about ready to move into their new businessg 'Shady Rest Home for Particular Old Maids'. However, they are still on the look-out for two tall, dark, handsome and rich men. Good luck girls. Last, but not the least of them, I can see the future of the final Senior of '61s LYNDA SMITH. Lynda has won the title of Best Housekeeper of the United States Surely, someone has made a terrible mistake. Yes, these are the things that the old crystal ball predicts. True or false, may the future of these Seniors of '61 be the best in the world. Surely, their future will be whatever they are best fitted for. ' 61 Class Prophet ANONYMOUS

gas!! 1' fan yesfamenf We, The Senior Class of Germanton High School, in the year Nineteen Hundred Sixty-one, proudly give to our friends. this, our LAST WILL and TESTAMENT. We hope that they who receive these bequests, will honor and cherish them always. The first one to will her possessions is BRENDA HAMPTON. She wills her small size to JUDY BOWMAN. Next, we have LYNDA SMITH, who wills her beautiful blonde hair to SARA BROWDER, who has always wanted to have blonde hair. Our next person just happens to be the tallest boy in Germanton High School, DON WHITE. He wills his extremely long legs to JIMMY FANSLER, who always has to look up to the girls. Poor NANCY BOWDEN, who has had her beat-up notebook for five long and hard years, has finally decided to give it to PEGGY MITCHELL, whose notebook is in worse shape than is Nancy's. The quietest girl in school, NOLA KAY BENNETT, wishes to leave her title to JUDY HEATH. It seems that Judy needs something to soften her Voice. The boy mechanic, LARRY ROLAND, wills his ability to tear out his automobile transmissions to RONALD WHITE. who has never been a reckless driver. JOHNNY JOHNSON, who is known for his nice ways in the classroom, leaves these nice ways to a needy one, KENNY WAYNE WHITE. JANIE WHITE has asked that her very best ink pen be given to JUNE TUTTLE, who is always asking to borrow it anyway. The chief marshal of her class, LINDA COX, wills her title of, Most Likely to Succeed, to very deserving, she thinks, boy, RAY WHITE. Next is DORIS HILL who wills her most exciting laugh to BETTY JO TUTTLE, who is forever in a sad mood. And last of all, I, DARRYL RING, would like to leave my title of Biggest Flirt to JO ANN RUTLEDGE. Darryl Ring Testator of Class of 1961 ' 1960 MARSHALS .
