Second Came: Traveling to Minatare, the Bulldogs greatly out-played the Indians, but after having one touchdown and two extra points called back had to settle for a 12-12 tie. Third Game: Gering traveled to Bayard and had victory in their grasp, only to have a bad break bring defeat 12-7. Fourth Game: Cering returned home and the Bulldogs retained their jinx over Chadron with 4-2-13 win. Fifth Game: Under the local lights it was all Gering the first half and Torrington the second. It ended with a moral victory for Cering, but the score was a 141-14 tie. malty Sr Back row, left to right: F. Ross, J. Pepper, M. Batt, D. Colson. N. Gross, Phillips. B. Raines, F. Armstrong, F. JOHNSON The Blue and Cold started the season fast and never slowed down until the final game of the year. Highlights of the regular season saw Gering defeat Scottsbluff for the first time in many years by a 37-35 score. Another highlight was a revenge tramping the Bulldogs handed Mitchell, 45-30. From there they went on to win the Pan-Handle B and N.P.V. conferences for the second consecutive year. The Bulldogs entered the district tournament as very heavy favdrites, but needed Lady Luck and almost impossible last-minute rallies to defeat Gordon Q33-321 and Chadron t4-6-4-51. Regaining form, they defeated Sidney's Maroons in the tourney finals and repeated as district champions. Traveling to Lincoln the Bulldogs again upset the applecart and defeated the un- defeated Plainview Pirates. This was the first state win for Gering and the district for many years. The Holy Name Ramblers then eliminated Gering in the Class B semi-finals to end one of the finest seasons a Gering basketball team has ever enjoyed. R. PATTISON N. GROSS D. MYERS f. S!!
