PAT MYERS wills her sophisticated manner to DONNA GROSS. PHIL WENZ leaves her sex appeal to ETTA MAE KLEIN. BETTY LOU JOHNSTON and DOROTHY LEIS leave for Melbeta. SHIRLEY UHRICH leaves her ability to go steady for over a year to NANCY COOPER ARLENE FERTIG wills her giggle to the Freshman girls. CLASS HISTORY 4 The portals of G.H.S. opened to 84 green freshmen in the year -1947. when the class of 1951 began their four memorable years of high school. In that year we elected Ronald Brown as President: Marilyn Schlothauer as Vice President, J. R. Rogers as Secretary, and Helen Hashiba as Treasurer. To the student council. we elected Don McCosh. Jerry Barton. Elwin Olson, Phyllis Roland. For our class sponsors that year we chose Mrs. Evelyn Snyder and Mr. ,lim Boyce. Our class party, a masquerade affair. was highly successful. In the fall of 1948. we returned to that grand institution called learning and. voted for our President. J. R. Rogers. Our other officers were Bob Wilkie. Vice Presidentg Arthur Carretson, Secretary, Arne Landsberg, Treasurer. Mickey Reavis, Phyllis Roland, Jackie Ross. and Donna Thomas were chosen to represent us 'ln student council. Our class sponsors that year were Mr. .lim Bowers and Miss Anna Meyer. As we began our junior year in the fall of 194-9, we entered upon a whirl of activities. Our .lunior Class Play, Comin' 'Round the Mountain. was a great hit. With the funds received from the play we began our plans for the .Iunior-Senior Prom. Our theme was Dreamers Holidayu and it was one to be proud of. Our leaders for that year were J. R. Rogers, President, Beverly Daily, Vice Presidentg Arne Landsberg. Secretaryg and Jane Morrison. Treasurer. Our student council representatives were Phyllis Roland. Bob Wilkie, Elwin Olson, and Jerry Barton. Our sponsors were Miss Shirley Brisco and Mr. Bill Taylor. We embarked upon our final year with the dignity and sophistication of seniors. As we began our year, we again elected .I. R. Rogers as our class President. Elwin Olson was elected Vice Presidentg Arne Landsberg. Treasurerg and Donn Conn was elected Treasurer. The seniors were well represented in student council, with Mickey Reavis as President, Bob Wilkie. Vice President, Donna Thomas as Secretary. On the Activity Board were Jerry Barton. Chairman., and Donna Thomas and J. R. Rogers. Other members of the council were Pat Myers, Phyllis Roland, Don McCosh, Rich Hall, Rex Coppom and Elwin Olson. Mrs. ,lean Reeder and Mr. Bill Taylor were our class sponsors and their guidance and help through our last year will always be remembered. Our Senior Class Play. One Mad Night, was a comedy which we enjoyed putting on. On our Senior Sneak Day, we sneaked away to Denver for a thoroughly good time. Then there was the Senior Dinner at Bigger's Dinner Bell. That was memorable night with good food, dancing. and a lot of laughs. The breakfast and prom put on for us by the junior class high-lighted our final year in school. To our teachers. sponsors. and those members of the faculty who were always willing to sacrifice their time and effort to help us. we offer our sincere appreciation for making our class history such a pleasant one.
