The class of 1980 got many laughs with their rendition of an old television favor- ite. For the first time in many years, the seventh grade participated in the float building competition. The class of 1984 based their float entry on Happy Days . The Junior class took second place with their unique float. 17

Homecoming, 1979 was cele- brated on September 15. Tradi- tional activities such as the pa- rade, bonfire and pep rally pre- ceded the football game which culminated the weeks activi- ties. The Geraldine Tigers played the Dutton Cardinals on Satur- day afternoon following a Slop- py Joe dinner sponsored by the Junior Class. The class of 1981 also provided the band, Night Wing , for enjoyment by all at the Homecoming dance on Saturday night. Nice Weather Is Perfect Backdrop For Successful Homecoming Parade The Pep Band, directed by Mr. Jeff Huenick, led the parade and provided suitable music. First place was captured by the Freshman class with their float which proclaimed M A S H the Cardinals. 1b

Football Cheerleaders Promote Spirit, Colorguard Presents Flags. During the course of the 1979-80 school year, the Geraldine High School Color Guard was present at all sports competition to present the colors and to entertain the fans with their impressive routines. Along with the spirited Pep Club, the football cheerleaders led spirit activities throughout the season.
