DEDICATION Teenagers everywhere must have a place where they can feel at home away from home. They must have somewhere to go to discuss the pleasures or the displeasures of the day. In Geraldine, many went to Roy’s place where they could have a coke, a sandwich, or even a full meal. If they were short of cash, they knew they could charge it and wait a few days until they were able to pay Roy. Thus it is to the memory of Roy Hayes, who did so much to help Geraldine teenagers, that we, the Safari Staff of 62, dedicate this an- nual.

SUPERINTENDENTS MESSAGE MR. RALPH HECKER My sincere congratulations to the Class of 1962 on suc- cessfully passing their first hurdle in their journey through life. It is my sincere wish that our three institutions of learning the home; the church; the school will stand by and assist every one of you in making your chosen career suc- cessful throughout your life. It is cherished by your parents and community that all will become outstanding citizens and always be a credit to society in whom our school will be justly proud. The background that you have retained cannot be measured; however knowledge acquired, character molded, and person- ality strengthened are a few of these invisible accomplish- ments. These qualities were instilled in every student enter- ing and passing the hurdles of the Geraldine Public School System. May this annual serve not only as a reminder of your achievements, but also as a memento, when in years to to come, you wish to recall a forgotten face, a cherished memory, or merely relive your school days.
