First and Second Grades Room History We began the year with 27 children in the lovely primary room. During the year we lost two children, leaving 1 3 first graders and 12 sec- ond graders. Our major project for the year is learning the three R's. Besides this we had parties.programs and a very nice year. 20

Third and Fourth Grades FIRST ROW: Lois Mitzner, Ginger Buck, Sue Knedler, Diane Boggs, Diane Vegoren. SECOND ROW: Chuck Bucher, Joe Joyce, Bill Spevacek, Laura Engellant, Mike Joyce, Jim Martinez, James Davis. THIRD ROW: Sharon Mogstad, David Painter, Ronald Mitzner, Lennie Stone, Ed Goldhahn, Freida Blyth, Mrs. Bergman. Room History When school opened on September 6, 1955, grades three and four had eighteen pupils, with nine in each grade. One week later another girl enrolled in the third grade, giving the group nine- teen in all, with Mrs. Bergman as the teacher. When Homecoming and Orange and Black day came around, the room participated with a float called Disneyland for which they received an Honorable Mention. The group enjoyed a Halloween party along with other elementary grade pupils at the au- ditorium. On December 22, along with the other immediate groups and primary room we partic- ipated in a Christmas program presented in the new auditorium for parents and friends. 19
