Musically speaking, the main part of their composition lies before them. May their High School years serve as a sound basis for their future life's compo- sition. A richer enjoyment of activities lies ahead for those who utilize their talents to make this discorded world a more harmonious place in which to live. Choosing Miss Crawford class sponsor, Blue and Gold class colors, Yellow Rose class flower, Those Who Work Shall Succeed class motto, Ronald Scribner class president, James Chemelik class vice president, Mitzie Tanner class secretary, Rita Tonne class treasurer, and John Peters and Rita Tonne class reporters provided the usual flying start for Freshies. This take-off includ- ed the Freshmen Initiation. Being required to wear old female clothing and being painted from head to toe were all part of it. Shoe polish and lipstick were the favored articles to be used as paint. More torture followed at the Initiation Party held that night. Roller skating provided the entertainment at the Freshmen Return Party held on February 23. On September 7, 1949 we elected the following officers for the Sophomore year: Donald Hicks, President; Douglas Fairbanks, Vice President; Vic Manley, Secretary; Mitzie Tanner, Treasurer; Ronald Scribner and Bill Bell, Reporters, and Bill Bell, Representative. Our sponsor, Mr. Nelson was appointed by the faculty. We slaughtered the Freshmen on September 21, and dressed them as comic characters. The return party was given to us on December 14. As Juniors, on September 11, 1950, we elected: Kirk Seekins, a newcomer, to the office of Presidency; Mitzie Tanner to the office of Vice President; Rita Tonne to the office of Secre- tary-Treasurer; AI Audet, another newcomer, and Donald Hicks as Reporters. Bill Bell became Student Council Representative and Mrs. Minium was chosen class sponsor. She did wonders in leading us through the Junior Play, Bolts and Nuts' on December 4, and the Junior Prom on April 14, 1951. The Junior-Senior Banquet was our final undertaking but our Mothers did all of the work. On September 10, 1951, with Mr. Balogh elected class sponsor, we began the big year, our last one, and elected Donald Hicks, President; Mitzie Tanner, Vice President; Ronald Scribner, Secretary-Treasurer; AI Audet, Representative; Bill Bell and Rita Tonne, Reporters. We presented the Senior play, Listen to Leon on December 7, 1951. The Prom was held on April 26, 1952. The Junior-Senior Banquet was held in May. Baccalaureate Services were held on May 25. Class Night took place on May 26, 1952. Commencement Services marking the climax of our High School years were held on May 29, 1952. Ronald Scribner was elected as Student Council President and Rita Tonne as Student Council Secretary-Treasurer during our Senior year. Rita was also the representative to Girls' State fhe Secretary-Treasurer during our Senior year. Rita was also the representative to Girls' State the summer of 1951. (J ass I, Ronald Scribner, will my report cards to Buck Hardenbrook. May you achieve the good grades I have, I, Mitzie Tanner, will my black, curly hair to Bonnie Raty, who won't have to dye her s any more. I, AI Audet, will to my little brother, Tiny, any of the girls that 1 have gone with. (If he wants any of them.) 1, John Peters, will my taxi service to Bob Anderson. (Don’t get run into like I did.) 1, Rita Tonne, will my ability to accumulate a large amount of gentlemen to Gloria Trevithick. (Don’t worry, they all have cars.) I, Donald Hicks, will the will that was willed to me by Bob Cartwright, a way with the fairer sex, to Willie Tonne. It’s quite a routine. I, Victor Manley, will a diploma to myself. (It’s the easiest way out.) I, Douglas Fairbanks, will my ability to train for sports to Artie Warrior. (Be careful Artie, liquor is going up. ) I, Roy Wishman, will my basketball suit to Jim Dawson, who thinks he is pretty big. I, Bill Bell, will all the candy! gave to Miss Wickens to anyone who wants it. (It was a good try anyway.) I, Jerry Quneil, will my ways with Miss Wickens to my big brother. Bob. (School sure is nice.) Class Ptojilecy The year is 1972, and the Seniors have returned to Geraldine for a class reunion. The meeting place is the hoi..a of John and Rita Peters. We are going to see a film of Marcia Tanner’s, a famous ballet dancer, on John and Rita’s television set. John Peters is the proprietor of John’s Chevrolet, and although he is loyal to Chevys, his success has warranted a Sunday Oldsmobile. Rita is kept quite busy with the three growing children. AI Audet and Mitzie Tanner, who still haven't tied the knot, are first to arrive. Al, who is paving his own road to the moon, has taken time off to drive Mitzie up from Hollywood. Mitzie, known by her Christian name Marcia to the public, has done many shows for the movies, radio, and TV. Her popularity is tremendous, especially in Geraldine where she is known as the home-town girl that made good. Dr. Ronald Scribner and William Bell L.L.B., a psychiatrist and lawyer respectively, are the second to arrive after their trip by air from New York City to Great Falls. Ronald has re- cently written a book on social problems and Bill is a candidate for Senator from New York. The nextguestsat the Peters' home are Donald Hicks and Victor Manley. Victor has become distinguished as the builder of the world's fastest hot-rod, which has musical trumpets. Victor drives this hot-rod in races across the country and plays the trumpets while steering with his toes. Among other enterprises, Donald manufactures coffins and keeps a close eye on Manley. Donald has also perfected an atomic-driven jack which can lift the iron-curtain. This enables Victor to drive under so as to give Stalin’s successors an occasional charge. (It is hoped the charge will be full of dynamite one of these days.) Roy Wishman and Douglas Fairbanks, who live in the country east of Geraldine, are ringing the doorbell now. Roy and Douglas have families, and their crops have rewarded them with newly remodeled homes and late-model automobiles. With the arrival of Jerry Qunell our reunion is complete. Jerry has settled in Wisconsin to raise his 13 children on the nation’s largest dairy farm. Jerry always enjoyed the milk, cream and homemade butter of home, and wants his kids to have the same nutritional advantages. pge 15 job 8163 cd As we are chatting over an after-television snack of coffee and strawberry-shortcake cap sules, the Class of 52” agrees that Mitzie's film was excellent and that if we are as success ful as we think we are, the days in G. H.S, were advantageous as well as memorable. First row: DANNY STRATE, SHIRLEY SCRIBNER, and BONNIE RATY. Second row; SHARON DUNTLEY, LENNIE SCRIBNER, SONIA BRONSON and BUD SCRIBNER. Third row: ROBERT HARVEY, HELEN HARDENBROOK, JOE HARDENBROOK, and PATTY LUDEMAN. Our play, The Skeleton Walks, which was a great success, had its presen- tation on March 28. The Junior Prom was held April 26 and merited a large crowd. The Junior-Senior Banquet given in May was our last successful project for the year. On September 10, 1951 the Sophomore class had eighteen members. The second week of school we held our first class meeting. Officers chosen were as follows: President, Bobby Anderson; Vice President, Carolyn Peters; Secretary and Treasurer, Irena Fairbanks; Reporters, Connie Tanner and Sonny Moline; Representative, Pat Mayo. On September 10, 1951 eight green Freshmen entered G. H. S. The first few days were spent picking rock and wearing initiation costumes which were really dignified. We elected officers for the year. They are the following: Arthur Warrior C onnie Dammel James Bell Marian Nierenberg Amelia Scribner Earl Duvall Patsy Nelson Gy me Scribner Arthur Warrior, President; James Bell, Vice President; Connie Dammel, Treasurer; Patsy Nelson, Secretary. The Freshmen Return Party was given on October 15th. Most of the boys were successful at getting on the basketball team. We had a cheerleader elect, Amelia Scribner, from our class. . When she got there, the cupboard Was bare. And so was her daughter, I guess. A decrepit old car drove up to the toll bridge and stopped. Fifty cents, said the gateman. Sold, cried John! Ida: What is your complaint? Vic: The bathtub faucet won’t run so would you mind having the hole in the roof shifted over the tub ? Bill Bell complained to the doctor that his hair was coming out. Won't you give me something to keep it in? he begged. Take this, the doctor said kindly,, and handed Bill a box. A Freshman does not know, and knows that he does not know. A Sophomore does not know, but does not know that he does not know. A Junior knows, but does not know that he knows. A Senior knows, knows that he knows, and wants everyone else to know that he knows. When Shirley went to the Doctor for ad- vice about her skin and complexion, he told her to take a milk bath. She couldn't afford that, so she hung a cow on the ceiling and took a shower. Mrs. Minium: Didn't I tell you to notice when the soup boiled over? Jerry: I did. It was half-past ten. Mr. Main: Before we begin the examina- tion are there any questions ? Earl: What's the name of this course? Dentist: Stop waving your arms and making faces. I haven't even touched you. Dawson: I know you haven't, but you're standing on my corn. Artie: How did your potato crop turn out, Buck ? Buck: Pretty good, some are as big as marbles, some are as big as peas, and, of course, there are quite a lot of little ones. Miss Wickens: This makes the fifth time I have punished you this week. What have you to say ? Sonny: I'm sure glad it's Friday. Mrs. Gordor: Another bite like that and you will have to leave the table. John: Another bite like that and I’ll be through. Coach: Don't drive so fast around the corners. It makes me nervous. Jerry: You won't get scared if you do like me, shut your eyes when we come to the corners. .
