September 13, 1948 we found nine “almighty” Juniors. Marion Scribner and Barbara Boling had left our class. Our first project was our class play “Mama’s Angel Child” presented December 3, 1948. Bad weather prevented a large crowd from attending. (Shucks! We have to blame it on something.) April 23, we had our Junior Prom. It was an Hawaiian theme, grass huts were used for punch stands, palm trees and flowers made the scene even more beautiful. The colors were blue and white in honor of the Seniors. In May our Mothers had fricasse chicken at the Junior-Senior Banquet. This was held at the Community Church and decorated in the Senior colors. Sally Bronson was chosen as a cheerleader from our class, also class representative to the Student Council. Jim Craig, Max Makich, Earlene Duvall, Junior Reid, Jerry Chmelik, Alice Tanner and Sally Bronson took part in sports for this year. Officers were as follows: President ..... Vice President Secretary .... Treasurer ..... Reporter ..... Sponsor ...... ...Max Makich ..Sally Bronson ...Alice Tanner Kenneth Hicks Earlene Duvall ...Mr. Halbert September 6, 1949 nine brilliant Seniors occupied the seats by the windows in study hall, that is until the teachers changed our minds and moved us. Elmer Luhr and Earlene Duvall had left our class leaving only seven Seniors to fight our battles. November 24, we had our Senior Dance. March 31, 1950 us hombres held our class play “Dude Ranch”. The auditorium was packed and the proceeds were good. April 21 we were honored when the Juniors had their Junior Prom. The room was beautifully decorated in our class colors. We know how much work a prom is and want to congratulate the Juniors for the splendid job they did. May 10 the Junior-Senior Banquet was held at the school house. WOW! What a feast! Baccalaureate services were held at the Community Church May 21, 1950. Class night was held May 22, at the auditorium. At last graduation arrived, the girls in white gowns and the boys in medium blue, we took our places on the stage to receive our diplomas. Sally Bronson was chosen a cheer leader — Kenn Hicks was chosen to the Student Council from our class. Jim Craig, Max Makich and Junior Reid took part in sports this year, Kenn Hicks was manager of the basketball team. Officers for this year were: President ..........................Kenneth Hicks Vice President .....................Alice Bechard Secretary and Treasurer.............Sally Bronson Reporters .................Jim Craig, Max Makich Sponsor ............................Miss Crawford Class Motto — Now We Try A Boundless Sea. SENIOR CLASS HISTORY School opened September 9, 1946 to find seventeen green Freshmen impatiently waiting for the doors of G. H. S. to open. We followed the examples set by our upper- classmen and soon learned the fundamentals of High School. Our first highlight was getting initiated by the dear old Sophomores. Being dumb, we couldn’t figure out what was going on until the Sophs started to give us a “paint” and “paddle” job. After being paraded around school and town all day, that night we per- formed for the whole High School at the auditorium. When they were done with us, every- one danced to the town orchestra and was served a lunch by no one but the dear Sophs themselves. October 23, 1946 we attempted to whitewash the “G”????? It looked better — but — we looked worse than when we started out. December 18, 1946 we gave our return party, this was also the Christmas party for the year. Those who took part in sports were Alice Tanner, Sally Bronson, Max Makich, and Jim Craig. Kenneth Hicks was manager of the basketball team. Officers for this year were as follows: President ................................Jim Craig Vice President ...............................Sally Bronson Secretary and Treasurer......................Marion Scribner Sponsor ........................ ....Miss Crawford On September 8, 1947 we found eleven Sophomores sitting in the assembly, waiting for school to begin. Our only thought was to get revenge on the Freshmen, this we did by torturing them all day with big paddles and large amounts of lipstick and shoe polish. That night we used the auditorium for our torture-chamber, the Freshies entertaining us by exhibiting their talents. When we got through with them, those that were able danced to the town orchestra. In October we gave a roller skating party for the whole High School, we tried to sell carameled apples????? Alice Tanner was chosen as a cheer leader from our class. Earlene Duvall, Jim Craig, Max Makich, Alice Tanner and Sally Bronson took part in sports this year.
