The opening of the term of 1945 found 12 green, gangling Freshznen bang ing impatiently on the doors of G. H. S.--eagerly anticipating great things of their first year of high school. A few weeks later came initiation, and we learned the first great lesson of our high school career--don't do unto others and they won't do unto you. Cn this memorable occasion we were found wand ering about the halls clad in various costurnes, including: A baby, jack-Be- Nimble, Little Bo Peep, Old King Cole and others. ln spite of our days an- guish we were treated to an Initiation party that night. Here we were asked to perform diificult feats to show off our non-existing talents. Ctlzer activi- ties of the year included the annual uwmtewasmg of the 'G' and our Fresh 'PH man return party honoring the Sophomores. Cur class was composed of .Le following members: Norris Cwen - President john Entert Benjy Craig - Vice-President Glenn Anderson Delores Fairbanks - Secretary and Charles Fairbanks Treasurer Marina Paradis Daniel Stienbacher Marilyn Boettcher Elmer Liartha Bell Francisco Marteniz Our sponsor was Rachell Copp. The second year of our high school career was a somewhat uneventful one. Still remembering the ache in our posterior, we took np-on ourselves the duty of properly initiating the Freslnmen. With the help of paddle and paint, they proved themselves worthy of 2-.eir title. Cur class was small- er now due to the loss of john Entorf, Charles Fairbanks, Norris Owen, and Daniel Stienbacher. Betty Ludeman was transferred from Fort Benton and joined our class. Among our activities this year were field trips to the canyon and the Shonkin mountains. With the closing of the term we were loohlng fore- ward to becoming upperclassmen. Our sponsor was Mrs. Bartlett and our class officers were: Benjy Craig - President Marina Paradis - Vice-President Delores Fairbanks - Secretary and Treasurer We as juniors, found ourselves the executors of many tasks. Cnr play, which was appropriately entitled Let Me Cut Cf Here . Was presented on December 12. At curtain tirne we were faced with a full house and a bad case of stage fright. Our annual junior-Senior Prom took place on April lO. The theme, Winter Wonderland , was carried out to the extent. Snow covered pine trees were scattered about and hitching rails separated the spectators from the dancers. A log house served as punch stand. 15

On May 20 our mothers prepared the junior-Senior banquet. The menu consisted of Chicken and all the trimmings. The girls were all proudly dis- playing large rose corsages and the boys flashed carnation buttonaires. This event climaxed our activities of the year, The total of class mem- bers now stood at 10. Class officers were elected as follows: Benjy Craig - President Glenn Anderson - Vice-President Secretary and Treasurer - Martha Bell Our sponsor was Mr, Vail. Entering the doors of G. H, S. for our last year in high school, we were faced with numerous responsibilities and problems. The first of these was our Senior play, a comedy entitled A Pair of Country Kids. Nearly all of the Seniors were active in sports during their high school days, most of them receiving letters in one or more sports. With the coming of spring, we began preparations for those last events before the closing of school. Among these events were the Prom and the junior-Senior Banquet. The Prom was held on April 23 and was tradition- ally decorated by the juniors in honor of the graduating class. Being Seniors, we could fully appreciate the tirne and effort put forth to make this prom a success. The long-awaited day finally arrived on April 25. Donning white caps and gowns we stepped into line to receive our diplomas. Regrets were for- gotten for one moment as we remembered our class motto-- Reach our goal, and keep climbing. 16
