JUNIQR I-HGH There were nine eighth graders and an equal number of seventh graders in the Junior High this year. During the first week of school. the Hi-Y Club was organized. Every student in the room joined. and the following officers were elected: Shirley Scribner, president: Bill Bell, secretary and treasurer. Dues were twenty-tive cents per month and the money was used for purchasing refreshments and room decorations. We had our plant stand and shelves decorated in red and white which helped to give the room a more cheerful look. Our first school party of the year was held on Hallowe'en, October 30. with stunts and games followed by refreshments. During the first week of December we sold S425 in magazine subscriptions. Some of the funds were used in purchasing a large dictionary and a stand to hold it: also some new library books. At the Carnival on November 22. we sponsored the Fish Pond which gave all of us a chance to participate in a high school project. On December 17. our room took part in the annual Christmas Program given by the grade school. Our mothers were invited to our Valentine party held February 13. Our last party of the year was an all-room picnic. The pupils graduating from the eighth grade into high school this year are as follows: Jerry Qunell. James Chmelik. Juanita Cartwright, Ronald Scribner, Joe Ed Duvall, Douglas Fairbanks, Miizie Tanner. Bill Bell and Nadine Scribner.

D LIBRARY Our small but well stocked library holds many volumes of research study in nearly all fields, as well as numerous library books for general leisure-time reading. It is not hard to find any poem desired as we have many books of poetry. We have many current magazines and keep on file, the older numbers of Life. Time, News Week and Geographic magazines for reference materials. The above girls acted as librarians, each receiving one fourth of a credit for the year. They check books out and in, keep the library neat and orderly. and cheerfully assist the student in finding the material for which he is seeking.
