Bill Bronson. halfhack with three letters. was captain of our team this year. Bill W was an outstanding player and made more ' than his share of the tackles. Buck Juedeman, quarterback with one letter, acted as captain when Bill was out of the line up. Buck was small and light but was always in there fight- ing until the last whistle sounded. Herb Bailey. quarterback with one letter. Herb always had a good football spirit, and could be relied on to play a good hard game.

First Row: Harold Juedeman. Bill Bronson. Francisco Martinez. Benjy Craig, Beryl Rucker, John Entorf. Second Row: Kenneth Hicks and Max Makich, managers: Robert Martinez. Elmer Luhr. Glenn Anderson, James Craig, Herb Bailey. Coach Vail. The Geraldine Tigers started the l947 playing season with only one letter man. Bill Bronson. on the team. The first game of the season was played with Geyser on the home field. The Tigers put up a good fight but the Geyser team proved too much and defeated us 46 to 0. The following week we journeyed to Stanford. The team showed much improve- ment but remained on the short end of a 36 to 26 score. The next week we went to Denton. The student body had voted to attend this game and school was dismissed in time for everyone to get there for the kickoff. The team was encouraged by the large rooting section and displayed a fighting spirit. That first victory still did not materialize and we lost 52 to 6. Two weeks later we played Highwood on our home field. While we were defeated the score of 18 to 12 indicated that the boys were beginning to benefit by the experiences of the previous three games. A week later we played a return game at Highwood. The team was handicapped by injuries and lost 25 to 12. While the season was not successful as far as victories are concerned it gave the boys a background of experience on which to build future teams. 10
