SQPHGNXGRE HISTORY 'xxx' I ce, Opening day roll call revealed that there were eleven Sophomores in Geraldine High School this year. We enthusiastically enjoyed the opportunity to initiate the incoming Freshmen. We manufactured man-sized paddles and freely applied lipstick and shoe polish. After a day of torture, we gave them a party at the gym. The town orchestra played for this occasion. During the following week, we kept the Freshmen unusually busy during all their spare time and half of every lunch hour removing rock from the football field and preparing the goal posts for the first game of the season. By vote of the student body, Alice Tanner was chosen as one of the cheerleaders for this year. Miss Crawford, who had been our sponsor during our Freshman year, continued to sponsor our class. Under her guidance, we gave a roller sl-:ating party for all high school students early in October. Class officers for the year were: Max Makich, president: Alice Tanner, vice- president: Sally Bronson, secretary-treasurer: and Marian Scribner and Earlene Duvall, reporters.
