5 I l DR. HARRISON quietly assumes an amused but thoughtful ' look while listening to a question that is being asked. The President IN Hrs THREE YEARS as president, Dr. Harrison has not only become a Well-liked president, but a respected and admired person as well. He has attended to his ad- ministrative duties in a tactful, courteous, yet forceful manner that has won many friends for Georgia Tech. Since his appointment, he has seen and been partly responsible for the construction of the new classroom and the Radio Isotope buildings. Also he has worked hard on getting a new Infirmary, Electrical Engineering building, dorm, and Nuclear Reactor. A native of Arkansas, Dr. Harrison attended the U.S. Naval Academy. After serving in the Second World War, he earned his M.S. degree at V.P.I. and later his Ph.D. at Purdue University.

The Board of Regents THE CONTROLLING body for the University System of Georgia is the Board of Regents. It is the responsibility of this board to regulate all affairs concerning policy and finances of every state supported college and university. They in turn make recommendations to the state legislature for funds to run the schools. The board is composed of fifteen members. These members represent ten districts, with tive members being from the state-at-large. They are appointed by the governor and approved by the legislature for a seven year term unless they are appointed to fill an unexpired term. Since its origin in 1932, the board has through the years maintained colleges and universities for the state of Georgia to be proud of.
