MARIUN LUTHER BRITTAIN Dr. Brittain, who was president of Georgia Tech for more than twenty years, has gained the admir- ation and respect of undergraduates and alumni alike. During his administration Tech was admitted to membership in the Southern Association of Secondary Schools and Colleges, enrollment was nearly doubled, and twenty-two new buildings were added to the campus. Under his guidance we developed into an institution of national importance. Dr. Brittain will long be remembered for the part he has played in the growth of Georgiais educational system. UF THE GEURGIA SCHUUL 0F BLAKE RAGSDPALE VAN LEER The Georgia School of Technology is fortunate in having a man of the caliber of Blake Ragsdale Van Leer as its president. Because of his brilliant leadership, our school maintained its high place among educational institutions during the difficult war years, and now, as We expand, he will be called upon even more to show his great ability. Dr. Van Leer has a colorful background in the held of education, having been Dean of Engineering at both the University of Florida and North Caro- lina State College. As a colonel in the United States Army, he was chief of the operations branch of the Army Specialized Training Division. Under Dr. Van Leer Georgia Tech is des- tined to take its place as the greatest technological institution inthe country. TECHNUL

DMI ISTR TIO Dean Narmore and Dean Grilin, as Exec- utive Dean and Dean of Students, are respon- sible for carrying out the policies of the insti- tution. They have performed their difficult duties with the quietness and hrmness char- acteristic of true leaders. A large part of the problems of the growing student body falls on these men, and it is due to their efforts that close harmony is maintained between the faculty and the students. Both Dean Narmore and Dean Griiiin are grad- uates of Georgia Tech and have served on the faculty in other positions. Their promo- tion to these offices is tribute to their ability. 15- GEORGE C.
