President Freshman Class THE STUDENT COUNCIL . . . . . . is the governing body on the Tech cam- pus, elected by the student body itself. The purpose of the Council is to represent the student body in all matters affecting student interest, to provide a medium of communica- tion between the students and school author- ities, and to preserve the customs and the traditions of the school. The Council also su- pervises the election of editors and business managers of the publications, promotes and supervises the annual election of class oliicers, and elects student representatives on all stu- dent-faculty committees. GUVER ME THE STUDENT-FACULTY HONOR COMMITTEE . . . . . . was organized in an effort to eliminate dishonesty among the students at Georgia Tech. Each year the President appoints three faculty members and the student council elects three student members to act as the committee. The func- tions as stated in the constitution are: c'Any faculty member who suspects a student of dishonesty in school Work must report such student, together With evidence, to the Student-Faculty Honor Committee. The committee investigates the case. and determines Whether or not the student is guilty as charged. lf, in the opinion. of the committee, the student should be disciplined, it remands the student to the Executive Committee of the facultyf' Few cases have called for such discipline, as the committee has proved most successful in executing its purpose.
