FOREWORD A baseball player married a cinemama. They spent their honeymoon in the Far East: she in Korea with G.I.,s and he in Tokyo with Japanese baseball playerseptobably the most unusual honeymoon of the year. That was the big story of 1954. Twenty-thtee American prisoners of war flipped their fatigue caps while in Communist captivity. When time came for them to llgo home, they refused. Two finally realized that Life in America is better, even for a collaborator, than Existence in Exile. Then there were 21 left. That was the big story of 1953. In Atlanta, at the Atlanta Division, a small, quiet competent group worked swiftly, assuredly, to collect, edit, and assemble material for the school's yearbook. They knew mistakes would be made, students, photo- graphs would be omitted, wrong identifications made, sensitive souls slighted, but they would not be deterred. Joe, George, Marywill, Mike, and Maggie would appreciate their final work. Joe, George, Matywill, Mike, and Maggie, and their friends, said: Give us a book for reminiscence. Something to bring nostalgia. The group, having completed their work, awaits the final judg- ment: Yours. Wonit make a big story-not even news. It will make a few people happy to know you like the 1954 Rampway. 3A2 Ealitam
