Epilogue. The final page has been finished. and along with it the sealing of' my memories of' this years work on the GALE. My special thanks to Mr. Earl McDermott, of' the Keys Printing Corporation, for all the long and tiring hours he worked with the staff' and rrre in putting together this yearbook. l would also like to thank my faculty advisor, Mr. Bill Mcliee. for his always needed advice and for his work on the book and the Miss GALE contest. I also want to thank each staff rrrernber for his many, many hours of seemingly endless work. Caryl. Mary Ruth. Jimmy. Belinda. and Steve de- serve special recognition and credit. I would also like to thank the J. B. Lippincott Company of Philadelphia. Pennsylvania. for allowing us to paraphrase their poem which we felt so ade- quately fitted the world of' Georgia Southwestern corit-ge f 1970. I would also like to add some last thoughts at this point. A years hard work went into this book. to capture for you the events and memories which will fade over the years to come. This year our nation has seen man on the moon for the first time. inflation at an all-time high, dissent among the people of our country. increase in drug addiction. and even the burning of the American flag by our own countrymen. All of this has been watched and reacted to by each in- dividual according to his conscience. Georgia Southwestern is only a tiny part of' this world. Our' own lives are even a smaller part of the world which constitutes this college. Each in- dividual has a chance to use this world to explore the vast sums of' knowledge it holds, both in books and in personal relationships which will enable him to become a better' and more aware citizen of' this world. You have been given the chance here to be an individual. not just a number or a face in a class- room. You are an individual! You live within an even smaller world than Georga Southwestern. You live within the world of' self. You have the sarne choices in the world of self' as you have in the world of' GSC. to explore and use the poten- tial that is there. If' you find the need, you have a chance to change your world of self. and by so doing change in some way the world which surrounds you. Each individual nrust first take it upon himself to so define his own world. and then his sur' rounding worlds. He must then live his life in ac- cordance with his own beliefs.
