The name changes mean little, we travel along the same road. It may be stronger, more settled, with new buildings and different people, but you would remember it. For whenever a good road is built, there will be people to use it, and there will be people to guide those who use it, and all of them will work together or alone, each in his own way, to keep it in good condition for those who will come after Your feet would remember this road if they have ever traveled it . . . If you climbed the stone steps of Atkinson and looked down and out across front campus when the trees were spring-fresh or autumn-mellow, you would remember us. When you came to know us you would see that the names and the clothes had changed, but the quick joy, and the' wonder and the questions in young eyes-these you would remember. And you would see around you those everlasting columns-and know that you had come back home. Your feet will remember the road, . . . all of us have traveled here . . . this is the road that carries us from youth and dreams of knowledge to whatever lies ahead.
