It means that we cut classes to be in line early, and it means minutes, sometimes hours, of standing in line or sitting on the library steps discussing schedule conflicts, degree requirements, and next quarter's teachers. Then last-minute conferences with advisors, a rush to get into crowded classes, schedule cards to be filled out, and finally, a glow of triumph as we leave the library, having lived through it once more. wi ii 1, f 4 .4,,...,.4,. ,gn , if A, I--BL, X K., 3

They came in hordes, those noisy, worried, excited, hopeful creatures called freshmen . . . getting out of cars packed to the roof, greeted by advisors and student guides, cautiously following the signs stuck up around campus, getting acquainted with house mothers, roommates, too-small closets, and the campus dogs, welcomed by everybody, for the fresh ideas and personalities they brought along with them. -S 12
