In the beginning of school there were many new faces, but now as we browse through our annual these faces have become very familiar and meaningful. The pictures of the students we will always cherish; for never again will this student body all be together in one place. We would like to express our sincere appreciation to Brother Freeman, our sponsor, for the outstanding job he did with taking and developing our pictures and for his undivided time and effort spent in helping us compose our annual. We would like to thank our annual staff who worked together so diligently. Not only our time and hands have gone into this work, but our hearts also. May this book bring each of you much happiness and be appreciated many years hence by all. 4 ALMA MATER In the heart of southern Georgia 'Neath the sun's warm glow Lies the home of Georgia Christian Finest Place we know. Tho' we leave thy walls forever Many miles go hence, May our love for Georgia Christian Only have commenced. CHORUS May we cherish thy traditions Hold thy banner high. Ever guard thy name with fervor Live to do or die. 5 The 1967 Pine Embers is dedicated to one whom we know as a friend, respect as an educator, and admire as a real person. His high ideals serve as an inspiration to everyone at G.C.S. He is respected for his sound judgment and integrity. Because of the advice and assistance which he has given to the students, faculty and administra- tion, and because of the efforts which he has made in guiding our school forward during the past two years, we dedicate this annual to our president, Bro. Cal Arquitt. 7 TO EVERY THING to and a time to laugh; • 1 % r, embrace. and a time to refrain from embrace; 8 THERE IS A SEASON, 9 AND A TIME TO EVERY PURPOSE and a time to speak; Photo not available due to too much Love ! a time to keep silent; Ik a time to love, 10 and a time to hate; UNDER THE HE A VEN. Eccl. 3: 1-8 I jgs i ADMINISTRATION We are closing another eventful year in the history of this wonderful school. We are gradually making progress which could not have been made without you. As Georgia Christian continues to grow, each one of you will have a precious place in my heart. May God bless you in all your endeavors in life. May your life be happy, useful and godly. Come home to see us often. CAL ARQUITT President BORD OF DIRECTORS James T. Hines, Chairman Baker, La. W. W. Colson, Vice Chairman Valdosta, Ga. Charles E. Copeland, Secretary Valdosta, Ga. Allen D. S. and hope that you will visit us often. I read a bit of wisdom that I would like for you to consider. Failure to hit the mark is never the fault of the target. To improve your aim, improve yourself. LOWER CLASSMAN: I'would like for you to consider this statement. Anyone who stops learning is old; anyone who keeps learning stays young. PREWITTE COPELAND Vice-President and Principal OWEN FREEMAN Dean of Students This my first year at G.C.S. has been a busy yet a happy one. We have had moments of joy and moments of disappointment. There have been times for tears of happiness and times for tears of sadness.
