The subiects were now different, but the amount and complexity of the material were no less. After hours of looking for acid-fast bacilli no one would see we were to expose ourselves to this bug, When many of us were asked to report to the Pharmacology office, invariably to discuss the results of the previous test, we did not seem to mind. We were also introduced to self-experimenta- tion and would often use our classmates as guinea pigs on techniques we were soon to try out on real patients.
