I Am the Principal . . . In loco parentis.’’ This is my school, where I am responsi- ble for the well-being and education of hundreds of students. I learn from them; they learn from me. The thought that I am helping to mold the attitudes of these students is the self-satisfying reward for the long extra hours, I spend in my corner office. The Commissioner of Education has called the high school principalship, the toughest job of all.” With teachers and students constantly running in and out of my office all day, I heartily agree.

The yearbook dedication is the highest honor the senior class can bestow. This year we honor Mr. Stephen Feins, our Problems of Democ- racy teacher. His course treats the controversial topics of now. He treats us as individuals. His efforts for the senior study,” his efforts for the New York trip, and his sincere desire to stimulate our thought, has earned him the praise of the class of ' 69 .

I Am the Teacher I will work hour after hour, strain day after day, standing, pointing, pouting, and shouting. . .to put one idea across. . .just one. . . To throw out facts is easy; to teach facts is harder, and requires long preparation, and good exposition. But to convey the concepts which make facts fall into place, is baital work. And to succeed makes it worth the trouble of teacher’s pets and parent conferences and problems of student geniuses . . . and semi- geniuses — and deadw ' ood . . . and all the daily hassles that give me headaches.
