G. A. A. The Girls' Athletic Association is a club for the grils of G. T. H. S. Its purpose is the stimulation of interest in athletics and the promotion of ideals of wholesome living. The first goal of a girl interested in the G. A. A. is to become a member and to receive her first award. She may receive her numerals by keeping the training rules, passing tests, taking gym, and participating in the various after-school sports. This club was organized this year, under State supervision, for the first time in the history of the school. In the leadership of Miss Ward, G. A. A. has found a capable and successful leader. A variety of sports were enjoyed during the year, including tennis, soccer, baseball and basketball. The girls have also participated in several social activities. Parties were held at Christmas and on Valentine’s Day. The proceeds of several Bake Sales held during the year were used to buy letters and awards. Approximately fifteen girls attended Play Day with Danville as the hostess school. Activities were closed with a spring picnic. BOTTOM ROW—Doris Alexander.
