It is the time when the eip foundation of a school career is l l laid and the succeeding years merely serve to build on this foundation. The habits that one forms in the early years of his life stay with him to a great ex- tent afterwards. This fact is also true of the first years of high school because one is enter- ing upon a new phase of life-the road that leads to a higher education. During this year, then, one should be care- ful to put forth his Very best efforts so that he may establish a foundation of knowledge and habits upon which his later years may be built.
