Do you recognize the aerial view of George- town? I want all of you to know that our theme for the year is Our Town, Our School, and that our school is our aerie, which means eagle's nest. All of us Qthe annual staff and mej hope that you will like the pictures with the backgrounds of Georgetown. Senior Class of '63 - those who showed up on picture day'. .ME A The juniors' traditional spring banquet for seniors was held in 1963, as is traditional, in the gym, but a gym trans- formed into a medieval banquet hall where jesters, troubadours and magicians provided entertainment for the knights and their ladies. Oh, this castle is in such a state of ill re- pair, quoth Connie Wieland. Jimmy, if you will take your eyes off Johnnie for a few minutes, I will show you how to set a table! Linda Hubbard and Nikki Sandberg seem to be having a hard time making the ceil- ing stick. J I Such excellent spellers as Linda Ekdahl and Vivian Ickes are extremely at- tached to their dictionaries. They won District 2nds in Spelling and plain writ- ing. Because of his profound interest in number combinations Brian Adkins was selected to attend the Nation- al Science Foundation Summer Math program at the University of Texas. He was one of about thirty students chosen for this honor out of three hundred applicants. Only thinking men such as these three can bring home all the honors in science. Brian Adkins won 3rd in District, George Woolsey 2nd, and Bob Giddings, who won lst in District went on to win third place in the State. A quick wit for figures assured John Clifford a 3rd place in number sense. 8 Under the discriminating and thoughtful coach- ing of Mrs. McCoy, Bill Elliott went all the way to Third in State in prose reading. At right, Mrs. Medley, who retired from teaching, receives a gift from Bob Giddings and Melvin Jacob, officers in Science and Math Club. Below our departing teachers carry on in their ordinary manner as they chug away from Georgetown High. Mr. Fred Bell is gently encouraging the engine, and of course, Mrs. Barnes must drive while Mr. Barnes meditates on the best route to take. Mrs. Medley is still dazed from her summer's trip round the world, but good sport that she is, goes along for the ride. Mr. Paine relaxes after his hard year, but Mr. Jackson can't relax. He continues to direct. Mrs. Dannelley urges the driver to go faster, and Miss Gilbert with her accurate foot and Mr. Rosser wielding his paddle, ride along balanced on the heads of the others.
