May your hearts be lighter and your lives be happier when you relive this book. Thus, we, the Annual Staff present to you, the student body of Georgetown High School, the 1953 .,, VI I tv 4 I I 3 W T O Coach Bernard Birkelbach---because of his quiet easy way of getting along with people, and because of his desire to build each per- sons confidence in himself ---- we dedicate it this annual. 4 Dm! Daman, To Mrs. Frances Springer, as an expression of our love and gratitude, for all the long trying hours she has spen t helping us to be our best and to do our best---we dedicate this annual. Q, Sli:-sw X, is it Ve Wlmaw of Qui! gudtlaaez THE ROSE BEYOND THE WALL Near shady wall a rose once grew Budded and blossomed rn God s free h Watered and fed by morning dew Shedding its sweetness day and night Onward rt crept with added strength Wrth never a thought of fear or pnde, It followed the light through the crevice's length And unfolded itself on the other side. The rose still grows beyond the wall, Scattering fragrance far and wide, Just as it did in days of yore, Just as it did on the other side, Just as it will forevermore.
