FOOTBALL BANQUET December Z1 marked a red-letter date for the football boys of G.W.H.S. when the Lions and Rotary Clubs presented them with one of the most delightful banquets ever given in George West. Everyone assembled in the shed at the school lunch room and the 'call to dinner' was given by Mr. Gay. The procession to the dining room was led by the football captainsand their dates. Mr. McBride, Rotarian, acted as master of ceremonies. After the invo- cation was given by Father Ordner, the large group sat down to the following menu: Baked Ham, Candied Yams, String Beans, Pineapple Salad, Glazed Beets, Rolls Apple Pie and Coffee. After the lovely meal there was a sing-song by the Pep bquad girls and all then Joyce Gilstrap got a big hand when she played Boogie VN oogie Etude Her encore was the Sabre Dance After the musl cal program Coach Brown was introduced and he in turn introduced the boys who made up the football line Carter Clubb Lippard Snider Connelly Garcia Sappoj VN illiams Houdman and Tate Then Coach Dean was introouced presented the ends and backfield of our football team Bennett Funderburgh and Funderburgh Garcia Trepa Rogstad Caron W eimer Gay Rogstad Tommy Rodgers and Schneider The guest speaker T H Miller talked on Play ing and L1X1I1g by the Rules After his speech the Jackets were presented by Mr Gay The group then sang When Those George West Longhorns Fall in Line ano the girls and boy s trouped to the band hall where the dance was held Everyone had a rand time SENIOR PLAYERS ,-KW CLUBB 5a,,.,, sunyfsemf Rcrgfigsgfg Na+ pac+uvcJ Sen IOY C 1 1 1 - I .. ---- 11 , .. -, -1 1 I V Y I v 5 1 1 1 1 '1 ,. . 1 . , Q , , . .
