HALLOWEEN CARNIVAL The gala evening of the Halloween Carnival, the coronation of the Queen of Halloween began at the good ole George West High Building with the selling of a delicious Mexican supper, pie, coffee pop corn balls, ballons and hats, horns, and just about everything that makes a home town carnival complete There were, of course, the usual ghosts and goblins tolurk inthe dark corners Also there's that Old Country Store ' It seems that the mothers build lt up and the mothers tear it down Nat1u'ally the big event of the evening would be the crowning of the Queen and King No one had any idea who the lucky pair was to be but they were allsatisfied when it was announced for it was none other than Ruth Gregorcyk and her hand some escort Douglas Troell Ruth's train was gorgeous and all thanks go to Mrs Ryan and Mr Meador The theme of the coronation was the United Nations The other candida es were representatlves and celebritl s from many countmes Thelr names and homelands were as follows Scotland China Ireland England India Paciflc Islands Russia MEXICO Holland United States Denmark Gina Sue Davis and Norman Alston Joyce Gilstrap and Bobby Jones Mary Goodwin and J oe Probst Mary Rogstad and Chubby Sawyer Peggy Jean LaCour and Allen Graham Marg1e Beth Stuart and J lmmie Hudgeons Sophla Bednorz and Paul Ford Carolme Ybanez and Renatio Garcla Joan Troell and Garland Harrison Jeanette Probst and Forrest Jordan Jo Ann Reinhard and David Maguglin The Spirlt of Halloween was Betty Jean Jordan The Court Jester, Bobby Schnelder, Pages, Billy Jeanette Hutchins and Jeanette Everman, Crown Bearers, Jimmy Dale Lamm and Tommy Canfield After all the Court Persons were introduced, each grade from grade school presented a little folk dance or song from each country I I.
