Miss Adams talks over the yearbook plans with editor, Diane Pritchard. TO THE CLASSES OF FALL 1963 and SPRING 1964: A farewell message has something in it of regret at parting, good wishes for happiness and success, and a fair measure of advice with guide lines for the future. I can say in all sincerity that I am sorry to see you graduates of '63-'64 leave just when I am getting to know youg but the disappointment would be far greater were you not to go on to the next phase of your life at the scheduled time. So I congratulate you and send you forth with the hope that you will have a good life. This good life is not to be confused with apparent success measured only by position, money and influence. It is a life in which there is continuing intellec- tual growth and social awareness. Yours is the generation that must win the fight against intolerance, prejudice, and fear, so that there can be real peace at home and abroad, and the marvels of this space age will benefit and serve mankind. This is a challenge that calls for men and women of strong moral fibre- citizens who recognize their own responsibilities and respect the rights of others, who avoid what is shoddy and cheap, and who will speak out in defense of authority in the family, discipline in education, and decency in conduct both in private and in public life. This may sound ponderous and far removed from you now but time goes by so quickly that you cannot afford to stand on the side lines inactive and uncommitted. Let each of you develop the talents you have and use them gen- erously and wiselyg then you will surely have a good life. Ruth M. Adams, Principal 6
