Executive Council In every democracy there must be o policy making branch. In the democracy of George Washing- ton High School, the Executive Council is that group. The lunchtime problem and rally exclusion were only two of the problems that confronted the Execu- tive Council this year. Due to hard work by all the members, many new ideas and suggestions were tried to help solve both of these major school problems. Some of the duties of the Executive Council are: the apportioning of school funds, the passing of by-laws to supplement our Constitution, and the granting of awards and honors in the name of the student body. Made up of elected Executive Council members, class officers and the student body officers, the executive council meets many times during the year in room 138 to discuss the problems of the student government. Presided over by the student body president and advised by Miss Selig. the Council makes possible a truly democratic Student Government.
