Student Body Officers—Spring ’52 A very copoble group of studentbody officers headed by President, Weyman Lew, provided a suc- cessful spring term for George Washington High School. Weyman helped to plan all our many activ- ities including the rallies, double lunches and the May Festival. All of the wonderful dances and sportnights were under the direction of our Vice President, Roberta Usher. Second Vice President, Bill Jaquysh, was always on hand when needed, ready to help. Neat and efficient minutes were kept by Billie Ching, studentbody secretary. All the money was handled by Bob Niccoles, our studentbody treasurer. Bob set a new record for George Washington by getting 100% in studentbody card sales within three days. The fellow who hung up the banner at all our games, and polished all our many trophies was our Custodian, Bob Ash. Nathan Tom was this term’s Yell Leader. He led the yells at all games and gave George Washington High School the reputation of having the best rooting section in San Francisco. As Athletic Manager, Gene Larson kept up our Sport Bulletin boord, took charge of all game ticket sales, and faithfully reported all sports events to the studentbody. Student Body Officers—Fall '51 As in the past, an industrious group of student body officers led the way to another successful term for George Washington High School. President Steve Gaol provided the necessary steady hand at the wheel. He did a fine job of putting across the idea that it pays to play ball with the administra- tion. Steve will attend Cal on a scholarship. Ruth Israel, first vice president, planned the many outstanding dances and decorations. Ruth plans to go to either Cal or Stanford. As second vice president, Lloyd Tunik worked hard with the Associate Rally Committee and was always on the scene, ready to help. Secretary Phyllis Rubin kept the minutes and records above standard in neatness and accuracy. Phyllis plans to attend Cal next term. Dick Levis, treasurer, upheld Washington's unbroken record of 100% Student Body card sales in five days. This is the 19th consecutive 100% term. Athletic Manager Dave Moss did a good job of publicizing the sports events and keeping the ticket sales at an impressive level. That hard-working fellow who kept the trophies shin- ing and the banner flying was Dick Fox, custodian. Head Yell Leader Bud Andress brought city-wide recognition to Washington for a high-spirited rooting section and well-planned card stunts.
