Dawn Adams and Sean Copeland were crowned queen and king. Awards Day followed on May 27. lt was presided over by Queen Dawn Highbaugh and her court consisting of Jessie Baker, Trel- lanie Boles, Stephanie Caraway, Michelle Haselwood, Jennifer Heath, and Kim Majors. There were two programs honoring both un- derclassmen and seniors. Scholarships and trophies were awarded to the seniors for aca- demic and athletic excellence. As the last days were counted down, feel- ings of sadness and loss began to mingle with those of happiness and relief. Graduation ar- rived on June 4. lt was a warm, beautiful evening. School board member Lillian Davis awarded the graduates their diplomas. Chris- tine Derebeef was valedictorian. Dennis Thompson was salutatorian. The benediction was given by John Sluss.
