CDRAMATICS 4. if FLORENCE CHAPIN Although the board has seen ht to take the dramatic department out of the school, the two societies, Alpha Beta Chi and the Phi Sigma Psi, have continued their activities under Miss Florence Chapin. Miss Chapin organized the dramatic department in 1913, and has shown great interest in promoting both the depart- ment and the societies. Though no plays have been given during the fall and the winter terms, there was no lack of enthusiasm when it was announced a senior play was to be put on. l'Alice Sit by the Fire, by james Barrie, is the play which was chosen by the senior play committee for the Class of l926. lt is a comedy which is full of Scotch humor and wit. The theme of the story is that the children are in America await- ing the arrival of their parents, whom they have not seen since they were little tots. The cast includes Irene Zimmerman as Mrs. Gray, Florence Ferman as Amy Gray, Verda jane Miller as Cinevra Dunbar, Laura liampmeier as Richardson, Cath- arine Hunt as Nurse, Lottie Faymon as Fannie, Robert Pohl as Mr. Gray, Fred Tangeman as Stephen Rollo, and Harold Smith as Cosmo Gray.
