Sediments Ol black time Echo Empty nothings While tracings, Winter ink blots, Search for a meaning. by Alan Sobel SUNDAY NIGHT lt's late, long iourney is over lights and brawling streets iarring subway rattle little boy almost tell asleep then Atternoan's country railroad station is lar behind behind in a whir ot dust and grinding wheels Little boy lies now on the couch in grandma's Iivingroom somewhere in afar corner a baby ben ticks on ticks but if you don't think about it it will go away Stare at light patterns pirouetting on the ceiling the darkness waits below in the street a bus's motor puns but little boy doesn't hear sleep dances with the ceiling's tigures dances away. by William Chaumont

Starched nurses in white nylon pushing baby carriages pressing cracked peanuts to sticky wheels leaving trails ot peanuts crumbs in mossy green sidewalk ridges.
